One location today. A three-location business tomorrow?
A market-based “estimate of value” baseline for Lube Station II, an expansion scenario, and an assessment of the intangible-asset risks that could determine whether growth creates transferable value and a viable exit.
An estimate of value, an expansion scenario, and a risk assessment
Lube Station II, a locally owned, female-operated quick-lube and inspection shop with more than ten years in business and a 4.7-star reputation, came to Quist with a goal: grow from one location to three and prepare for an exit in five to seven years. Using Quist Insights Spotlight, the owners got a market-based baseline, built from $410K in revenue and $80K in Seller’s Discretionary Earnings, that put the current business at an estimated $130K–$160K, with an illustrative path to roughly $300K per site at a best-in-class multiple. The assessment also flagged 11 intangible-asset risks, including owner dependency, undocumented processes, and limited financial reporting, that could hold down the multiple and make the business harder to transfer. Those findings became a staged expansion roadmap where each new site opens only after the previous one runs reliably without the owners, so that growth builds transferable value instead of multiplying the weak spots.
